Class Descriptions

Lindy Hop

Lindy Hop is THE quintessential partner swing dance from the 1930s and 1940s. It was born in the African-American communities in Harlem, New York in 1928 and danced to the hot swinging jazz music of the day.

It developed out of the Charleston and other dances of the 1920s.

The joy and playfulness of this partner dance have endured and it is still danced around the world today!

It is a workout for your mind and body.

It is a social subculture that attracts smart, open-minded people.

It is the most fun you've ever had since you were a kid.

And it's here in Toronto waiting for you to join.

Swing Classes

We teach Lindy Hop and Charleston in our Swing classes. Classes run in 6-week seasons.

Below are the class descriptions for all our Swing classes.

Swing 0 Beginner classes are offered every season.

Swing 1, Swing 2, Swing 3, and Swing 4 level classes are offered on a rotating basis. Check our current schedule to see which classes at each level are happening now!

You can take the classes within each level in any order but you must finish all 4 before moving to the next level. Ex: You must take all 4 of the Swing 1 classes (Swing 1.1, 1.2,1.3 & Charleston 1) before moving to the Swing 2 classes.

Many students will choose to re-take classes a few times before moving to the next level. We offer discounts if you are re-taking a class.
